Volgende jaar vier See en Sand hul vyftigste bestaansjaar en menige Old Boys wat hul lewensreddingskampe op skool bygewoon het, sal seker graag hul reünie in April wil meemaak. In die 49 jare sdert 1971 is meer as 20 000 tieners opgelei as lewensredders, 14 000 mense uit die see gered en meer as 32 000 noodhulpgevalle behandel.
See en Sand is turning 50 next year and we invite you to celebrate our half-century with us over the Easter weekend: 2-4 April 2021. All are welcome, you do not have to be an old boy- or girl. Come reminisce or bring a future See en Sander along to see what it is all about.
We will be offering our See en Sand style ocean activities. These activities include but are not limited to; cliff jumps at Platbankie, Dreunkrans and Piet-se-Klip and foraging for food along the Hermanus coast.
If you wish to skip the activities, please join us for the evening bring-en-braai, where we will also cook all foraged food. The weekend falls over the crayfish period so please ensure that you have the necessary permit, not only for crayfish but also to forage.

There are ten wooden cabins available for accommodation. Each cabin sleeps four people. First come first served. Bookings are available until one week before the event and can be made via email, sparks@hermanus.co.za or our See en Sand Facebook Page or See en Sand Instagram.
For those of you who are not familiar with See en Sand and its relationship with Paul Roos, here is a brief history of the organisation:
In 1971 a group of sixteen energetic Paul Roos boys approached their teacher to accompany them to Hermanus and requested his guidance to help establish a youth camp where like-minded youngsters could enjoy outdoor educational programmes. The “camp” has since evolved into a life-skills educational training centre making available various courses and activities to the youth. The result of these youngsters’ enthusiasm was the establishment of a training camp for lifesavers and thus the National Sea-and-Sand Institute was born.

The Lifeguard Division of Sea-and-Sand is the brainchild of Sparks Esterhuysen, founder and Father of the National Sea-and Sand Institute and teacher at Paul Roos for many years.
