Eerste Interskole-dinee verloop seepglad

The first Interschools Formal Dinner on Thursday 15 August this year did not only succeed in its aim to raise funds for rugby development at Paul Roos Gymnasium, but also provided first class entertainment in the form of a panel discussion between Old Boy Springboks from both PRG and Grey College and an auction of rare items. This event was the culmination of months of hard work and is hopefully here to stay on the annual calendar. Paul Rooser ontvang Tagore-medalje in Londen

Roelof Temmingh (2014), the first ever Paul Roos student accepted at the Royal College of Music in London, received not only a BMusHons in July this year from this acclaimed institution but also the Tagore Medal for being one of the two most generally deserving senior students for outstanding contributions musically and other important ways to the life of the RCM. Philip Erasmus completes gruelling Freedom Challenge Across South Africa for the second time at the age of 70

Philip Erasmus (1966) het vanjaar vir ‘n tweede keer die  uitdagende FRCASA-wedren  voltooi en sodoende die eerste 70-jarige geword om dit reg te kry. Die eerste keer was in 2014 kort nadat sy vrou, Sue, gediagnoseer is met borskanker, wat sy oorkom het. Hy het ook vanjaar die wedren aangepak ter nagedagtenis aan sy seun Adré, wat in ‘n fietsry-ongeluk in Januarie 2015 oorlede is. ‘n Besondere eer het Old Boy André Pelser (1968) te beurt geval toe hy einde verlede jaar die Ridderskruis van die Hongaarse Meriete-orde ontvang het vir sy bydrae om verhoudinge tussen Hongarye en Suid-Afrika te versterk en vir sy doeltreffende hulp wanneer daar na die belange van daardie land se burgers omgesien word. PRG also represented in Baseball World Cup

Grade 12 learner Mila Burger was selected for the U18 South African Baseball Team that participated in the Baseball World Cup Tournament in South Korea during August this year. Only twelve countries took part in the tournament, one country per continent and the rest according to merit. Mila’s achievement to be one of the twenty players in the squad made his grandfather Edward (Junior) Smuts (Old Boy of 1964) very proud and he shared this photo with us.
