Another pointer from this story is that the world is now our play field. Andries played a key role in the final investment decision of $30 bn (R440 billion) to create the necessary infrastructure for exporting Canada’s liquefied gas resources to markets in Asia. A photographic record of the plaque that disappeared from the first Gymnasium building in 2010 was donated to our archive. We thought the words were lost forever, but now we have it again and can we think of replacing this important memorial artefact with something of less desirable value.
