This truth was highlighted in Paul Roos Gymnasium’s rector, Mr André van Staden, presentation of the school’s new ten year master plan for the campus at the Old Boys annual general meeting in April. On completion this plan will ensure that the school will not only boast excellent facilities, but that the campus as a whole will connect the past, present and future of the school in an exciting and brilliant way.
While Mr Van Staden pointed to the learners’ achievements in last year’s National Senior Certificate Examination, the accolades that the school received from the Western Cape’s Department of Education and other institutions, like Solidariteit, and the top ranking of its sports teams, especially in rugby and hockey, it is also important to note how the Old Boys are still continuing to keep the school’s banner high.
Also important is to note how the Old Boys Union keeps up with the demands of our time by developing new traditions, like the Captains’ Dinner, and also to ensure that continuity and momentum in management of the alumni is maintained.
