The project to give recognition to Paul Roosers for national or remarkable achievements or contributions in the field of culture is now entering its second phase and you have the opportunity to submit nominations before or by the end of July 2020.
In the first phase, recognition was given to learners who excelled in the fields of writing, journalism, music, visual arts, acting (drama) and film making while still at school, and this roll of honour was inaugurated last year. Now it is time for the Old Boys to be acknowledged. Head of Culture, LUIZE KROUKAMP, tells us more.

In 2019 is twee houtpanele aan Paul Roos Gimnasium geskenk om erkenning te gee aan nasionale en noemenswaardige kultuurbydraes deur Paul Roosers.
Die eerste paneel bevat die name van leerders wat van die jaar 2000 nasionale kultuurprestasies tydens hulle skoolloopbane behaal het. Hierdie bord is op 10 Oktober 2019 onthul.
The second board will be used to recognise achievements and contributions that Old Boys have made in various cultural disciplines. These two boards hang in the foyer passage right in front of the Rector’s office.
Kriteria
Paul Roos-leerders wat ná hul skoolloopbane waardevolle en wesenlike bydraes op kultuurgebied gelewer het of besonderse prestasie op kulturele gebied behaal het. | Paul Roos Gymnasium learners who made a valuable or significant contribution or earned a significant achievement in a cultural discipline after school.
Definitions
- The term “Paul Roos learners” does not necessarily refer to matriculants.
- A contribution can be defined as a single achievement or it can refer to a career or a lifetime of contributions towards a specific cultural discipline.
- The term cultural discipline (kultuurgebied) includes (but is not limited to) writing, journalism, music, visual arts, drama/acting and the film industry.

Nominasies
Hoewel baie oudskoliere-prestasies en bydraes reeds in publikasies soos die 150-feesjaar boek verskyn, wil ons niemand oorsien nie. Ons versoek dus ons oud-Paul Roosers om asseblief nominasies in te stuur op hierdie Google Form-skakel.
Ons verlang net die volle naam en van, die matriekjaar van die oudskolier (indien bekend) en ’n beskrywing van die prestasie verdien of bydrae gelewer. Daar is geen beperking op die hoeveelheid nominasies wat per persoon gemaak kan word nie. Die sperdatum vir indiening van nominasies is 31 Julie 2020.
