Two Old Boys – Righardt Muller (2020) and Ruard van Renen (2021) – were selected for the South African team that took part in the XV CANA African Senior Swimming Championships from August 20th to August 25th in Tunis, Tunisia.
South Africa once again topped the swimming medal table, but this time around the nation claimed 40 pieces of hardware, with 22 gold, 8 silver and ten bronze medals. Algeria wound up in the runner-up spot with 26 total medals, including 10 golds, while Egypt rounded out the top 3 finishers with 30 medals but just 7 golds.
Ruard made a good contribution to this tally by being part of the relay teams that won gold in the 4x 100m Freestyle (Mixed) and 4 x 100 Medley (Men) and bronze in the 4 x 100m Medley (Men), as well as winning bronze medals in the 50m Backstroke and 100 m Backstroke for men.
