Letter from an Old Boy’s proud mom

The Old Boys’ Union likes to share in the success of our members, young or old, and that is why we publish this letter of a proud mother.

“My name is Narmina Faziloglu. I’m Emirhan Faziloglu’s mother. He graduated from Paul Roos Gymnasium in 2021.

“I’m very proud to inform you that my son has earned a scholarship from the HAN University of Applied science in the Netherlands. I believe that you must be proud of him as well.

“This is because I believe that Paul Roos (Gymnasium) has built a foundation for this success. I’m very grateful for everything that you have taught my son, not only academically.

“He learnt how to be a decent, responsible man; a gentleman.

“My son was one of few foreigners in the school but he never felt like one. He always felt like he belonged there, to the brotherhood of Paul Roos.

“You as a school supported and helped us to get through difficult times and that is why I, as a mother, am deeply grateful to Paul Roos – one of the best high schools in the country.“

HAN University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen) is one of the largest providers of education in the Netherlands, with more than 30,000 students and almost 2,500 staff members spread over two campuses.

With more than 3,000 international students, HAN excels at putting theory into practice in an international context throughout all 4 years of undergraduate study.

Founded in 1996, HAN has modern buildings, state-of-the art multimedia centres, world-class laboratories and wireless internet access. According to its website, a HAN degree delivers its graduates high-powered credentials and marketable skills upon entering the global career market.

Congratulations Emirhan and we wish you all the best for your studies. Keep us informed about your progress.
