The 1983 PRG Class came together in jubilant celebration of their 40-year reunion on the weekend of March 9 -11, 2023. Although they missed some of their fellow classmates, who are now residing overseas or have sadly passed away, the reunion was still a remarkable success.
The reunion weekend began on Friday morning, when the former students were warmly greeted by friendly PRG staff members Elza Van der Walt and Frans van Niekerk. The staff took the time to show and inform the attendees about all the new facilities and changes made to the institution over the past 40 years. The impressive upgrades left the former students wishing they had had access to such amenities during their time at PRG.
Friday evening brought a delightful experience for the former students and their partners, as they enjoyed a complimentary wine tasting and dinner at De Warenmarkt in Stellenbosch. The evening set the tone for the rest of the reunion weekend.
On Saturday, the former students gathered at the Markotter Stadium with their Bloemhof 1983 lady friends who were also celebrating a reunion. The excellent service provided by Helene van Wyk and her daughter made the day even more memorable. The reunion attendees enjoyed live music, top-notch bar service, and a mouth-watering selection of food. The weekend was filled with laughter, great stories, and memories of their past days, which they will cherish for years to come.
The former students expressed gratitude for the privilege of being a part of such a great institution as PRG, situated in such a beautiful setting. They expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the gentlemen who showed up and contributed to the reunion. To those who could not attend, the former students conveyed their anticipation and eagerness to see them all at the next reunion in 2033.
