The first-ever London reunion of Old Boys was held on 5 July 2018 at Stonehage Fleming’s offices in central London. An enormous thank you to Giuseppe Ciucci (1981) for sponsoring this event.
It was well attended by around 40 Paul Roosers, ranging from 1960, Gert Lindeque, to youngish old boys of 2013. Conversations in Afrikaans ruled throughout the evening as new friendships were formed.
Cobus Visagie (1991) was our guest speaker and kept us entertained after dinner.
There was great appreciation for the presence of Rector André van Staden and his wife, Adia, as well as for various South African Old Boys who went to a lot of trouble to attend this event.
Our sponsor, Giuseppe Ciucci, could not attend the evening, due to a family crisis, but fortunately that has been resolved. Giuseppe offered to host next year’s event that will probably again take place in the first week of July.
We are looking forward to welcoming more Old Boys and to grow this event. The UK committee members are Paolo Ciucci (1977), Conrad Nel (1980) and Cobus Visagie (1991).
