The Semper Wine Club is excited to announce two new inclusions to the e-shop as of September.
In our most recent addition, we’ve included the SPLENDIDIOR Magnum to the on-line store. This gives our Old Boys the opportunity to acquire an incredible wine which was released in coordination with our schools 150th founding anniversary. What makes this a very unique initiative, is that our Old Boys in the winemaking fraternity worked closely together to make a single wine (Cabernet Sauvignon), with grapes originating from each of their respective estates. Combined, therefore, this wine originates from 12 of South Africa’s most iconic estates. These include: Beyerskloof, Edgebaston, Kaapzicht, Kanonkop, Kleine Zalze, Meerlust, Middelvlei, Neil Ellis, Overgaauw, Rust & Vrede, Simonsig, and the Stellenbosch Reserve.
This month’s Estate feature is on Mont Blois Estate situated in Robertson. It is here that Ernst Bruwer and his wife Nina-Mari ply their trade among the foothills and on the slopes of the Langeberge. Ernst who matriculated from Paul Roos in 2002, is the 6th generation to farm on these soils. In recent years Nina-Mari has been responsible for vinifying their Single Vineyard wines while Ernst looks after the overall operation. Ernst and Nina graduated in B.Sc Oenology and Viticulture from the University of Stellenbosch and are therefore both qualified winemakers. Nina-Mari furthered her studies and is today part of the elite group of Cape Wine Masters. In their spare time, this couple has also completed the Cape Epic, Iron-Man and Comrades. We welcome you to support this estate by ordering their mixed case. Alternatively, do visit their newly completed tasting room which overlooks the picturesque Langeberge.
